uncle chai's passing

ytr mummy came home with sad news. uncle chai passed away. of cancer, he had been battling it for 8 mths. just now she told me more, its sad. but its a reminder that life is short. and one day, like it or not, we all have to stand before our Creator and give an account of our lives. will He be One that we know, and have relationship with? or will He be a stranger. albeit busying our lives with doing church stuff?
mummy said that uncle chai and his wife used to be at perpetual cold war.not talking for 10 over years amiably. aunty sharon was their sister, a Christian. prayed and preached to them. finally the wife came to Christ, and when uncle chai saw the change in her, he too came to the Lord. he was fervent and hungry, reading on books and leading others to God, their marriage became healed and restored. children also came to the Lord.
and then he was diagnosed.
i rmb i sat a few seats away from them during svc one weekend. uncle chai was blind already by that time. due to the pre chemo procedures, a reaction that affected very rarely the cancer patients. he didnt know me personally but he was a friend of my mum and more distantly my dad. he told me he was v happy that my daddy went to visit him at the hospital that day, and he took my hand and told me he was praying for my daddy.
mummy says the wife wanted to pray God take him away so that he dont suffer that much, but also yet couldnt because she couldnt let him go. altho he had become impatient easily and demanding due to the frustration and pain he felt in his body. but towards the end, mummy said uncle chai became at peace in his heart. pst meng went to visit him cos they were now in bbg group. i think dad's blog entry on uncle chai does him due respect and justice.
uncle chai, u taught us to live reflectively, love unsparingly and laugh happily, for life is precious while it lasts. thank-you.

Indeed life is so fragile...this very minute, still rejoicing...but yet the very next minute...no one knows what will happen to the people around us....I think, after reading this, I learnt to love my close one more...as we do not know the sovereignty of God...I believe Uncle Chai had experienced God tremendously....at least the entire family has a position in heaven...they will one day reunite with him...cheers..
